About this event

We Are Wakefield members and first timers will enjoy breakfast at Castlford College. Our Key Speakers will be Rachel Adams and Ross Gemmill from Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking. Their mission is to achieve a better walking environment and inspire people to walk and wheel more as part of their everyday lives.

They have partnered with West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) to embed the culture of walking into workplaces through our Walking Works programme. Walking Works is fully funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and so is completely free for participating workplaces in West Yorkshire.

Ross & Rachel will tell you all about what’s involved in Walking Works as well as the many benefits it can bring workplaces. Taking part in Walking Works can improve staff performance, reduce employee absence, increase job satisfaction, benefit the environment and ensure that both employers and employees are prioritising their physical and mental health.

Join us to find out about how your workplace can take steps to walk more as part of your everyday working life!

Your mission throughout the morning will be to form new connections through great conversations! Make 2025 your year for WAW COLLABORATION!

Event Disclaimer: Accessibility & Noise Levels

Our aim is to consider the needs of all our members and visitors to create an inclusive, welcoming environment at every event.

As we host events in different venues, noise levels and surroundings may vary. While we are mindful of this, networking and group gatherings can sometimes be loud, which we appreciate may be challenging for some individuals, including those who are hearing impaired, neurodiverse, or sensitive to sound.

If you require accommodations please speak to a member of the WAW team. A quieter space will be allocated in a closed space within the main event room.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us make our events accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The event space is wheelchair accessible.
