ONE YEAR ON from their launch at HOME, Manchester in collaboration with Manchester Mind, UK art collective We Are Willow present a reinvention of their project 'A DIFFERENT LIGHT' with Stockport Mind - contributing to continued awareness of male mental health.

This unique World Mental Health Day event features four film commissions, spoken word audio installation and launches a limited edition 7 inch vinyl taken from the 12 track album - included in the ticket price - with proceeds going to the charity.

We Are Willow presents a body of work exploring the topic by a series of internationally acclaimed mixed discipline artists, that intends to challenge and inspire the audience whilst celebrating the makers involved.

Four songs written and recorded by We Are Willow featuring Chorus Of Others male choir are used as the starting point from which to encourage more open discussion, using creativity to embrace male mental health in ‘a different light’.

FAQs

Parking

There is parking at Stockport College on Greek Street which is available Saturday and Sunday.

If you plan to visit during the week, take a look at our car parks page for alternative car parks.

Train

Stockport station is a 9 minute walk away. Follow the path from McDonald's, turn right and walk up the hill. You will pass the Town Hall on your left hand side. The Art Gallery will be in front of you at the main set of traffic lights.

Bus

The 192 bus travels from Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport via the A6. Get off at the bus stop near Stockport College, which is next to the Art Gallery.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Tickets are bought at your discretion - the work contains some strong language and sensitive themes

What's the refund policy?

No refunds - all proceeds go to charity, if you can't make the event please contact us. We will arrange posting your copy of the 7 inch vinyl to you.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Proof of ticket purchase. We will have a list of names on the door.
