Description

A celebration and challenge for #EthelDay

Thursday 5 July 2018, the University of Reading's School of Architecture

For women in architecture in the UK, Reading is leading the way – the majority of the School of Architecture’s staff are female; and there is a lively women architects’ meetup. It’s the perfect place to celebrate #EthelDay and to put together a plan to help women in the profession, in the future. We'll live tweet to take part in the international movement.

1.45pm Welcome – Lorraine Farrelly, Head of School, Reading School of Architecture

1.55pm Why we are here – Virginia Newman, Director, KSR Architects/RIBA Board Member

2.10pm How I got to where I am now – and what I’ve learned so far: women in architecture who have followed very different paths talk briefly about their experiences and the practical changes that could have helped them and future women in the profession
