Description

WE MUST LIVE

The Pushkinettes are delighted to invite you to the funeral of Anna Karenina. This buoyantly desperate and ridiculous show merges clowning, physical theatre and Russian classics. “We Must Live” is a visceral, epic, and ridiculous attempt at celebrating life through death and ritual. But don’t worry, it’s a comedy! Tatiana is Alexander Pushkin’s grand grand grand grand daughter, Pushkin is Julia’s greatest love, and Julie doesn’t really care.

The Pushkinettes are an ensemble with Russian heritage, hailing from France, Israel and Estonia.

“This is the type of show that arts festivals are all about" ****1/2 (TheAdelaidian.net).

MUMMY

Fourteen years ago, during break, Elizabeth lost her mother. She was sixteen. Today, a celebrated Egyptologist, Professor Niccoll is promoting her new book – MUMMY, the Art of Saying Goodbye – at an Alumni Dinner at her secondary school. She knows everything about death. She thinks. But confronted by old faces, and old school walls, memories stir and a Mummy returns. The time has come to unwind.

'Teetering on the edge between hilarity and devastation, it challenges us to rethink the space we give ourselves to love and grieve.' (Fringe Review, Brighton) *****
