Event description

Description

We live in a city that has seen huge change, from the shift in our economic base to the expansion and rejuvintation of city centre spaces and housing. We owe the Stoke-on-Trent of the future the ability to tell our stories honestly and accuratley, and much of that comes from the ability to document what we see.

We walk the city is a curated, guided walk through Hanley looking at spaces that have been significant historically, are significant now whether economically, culturally, or socially.

Join two members of the BlackLight team on a three hour walk. On hand will be a loaner compact 35mm or SLR cameras, lots of experience, tips and guidance.

Curated by a group of people who are passionate about the city, our ceramic heritage, its street culture, its music and its future we walk the city is a chance for you to meet like-minded photographers and learn about aspects of the city that may be new to you.

The walk includes a provisions bag including a sandwich, cold drink and a sweet treat (veggie, vegan and fish options as well as meat) and the processing and scanning of a 36 exposure 35mm or one 120 roll of film. For an extra fee you can attend a screen printing workshop to learn how to print your favourite image - or, if you'd love one to be printed but don't want to print it yourself then that can be done for you.

In terms of accessibility, you should be fit enough to walk for 3 hours, the walk stays on paved roads and paths but there may be step hills or narow paths involved. If you're at all worried about your physical ability, then contact us.
