About this event

Join a small group  to learn about the myriad of natural materials that can be turned into useful and beautiful objects. You will use a variety of foraged natural materials including willow, bramble, iris, dandelion and more to weave your own shallow bowl or platter. Perfect for displaying fruit, giving as a gift, or whatever you like! During the course you'll learn to make cordage from the natural materials, which can be incorporated into your weaving to add new colours, textures and shapes. You'll learn skills that you can use again and again with your own foraged materials. Suitable for over 18s.

The course will be based in our pleasant education centre classrooms, with the option to take a walk around the reserve at lunchtime and spot some of the plants you are using growing in the wild.

Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided.

We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.

Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.
