Weave a Seat: Chair Caning Workshop

Guided by an experienced tutor Freya, you’ll learn traditional weaving techniques using rattan to repair or create a chair seat or frame. Perfect for beginners and DIY enthusiasts alike, this session combines practical skills with traditional techniques.

All tools and materials are provided, and you’ll have the chance to work on a real chair or frame, giving new life to an old piece while learning a craft that has been enjoyed for centuries. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a complete/partially complete caned seat or frame and the confidence to tackle your own projects at home.
