This session will provide practitioners with the material and knowledge they need to make successful applications and challenges in visit visa cases/judicial review matters.

In this webinar, we will cover the following:

  • Analysis of the Immigration Rules
  • Detailed consideration of policy guidance, with a focus on areas of refusal and how these can be challenged with reference to policy
  • Arguing human rights in visit visa applications
  • Consideration of case law on visit visas
  • Case studies/ practical tips/examples

Priya is a busy and experienced specialist in immigration, asylum, human rights and nationality law. She appears regularly before the Tribunals and Courts.

She has a particular interest in and experience of cases involving vulnerable clients. She is known to have a very calming and reassuring manner with clients with vulnerabilities. She has a large amount of experience in ADR cases.

She regularly provides in-house training, seminars and webinars. She appears regularly before the First-Tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chambers and the Administrative Court.

She is very experienced in adult dependent relative applications and in challenging family applications under the rules and outside the rules by way of appeal and judicial review.

She is cited as a leading junior in Immigration (including business immigration) in Legal 500 with the Directories stating, “she has a sharp mind and demonstrates excellent client care”, “she is tactically astute, good under pressure and very persuasive in court” and “she is very knowledgeable in presenting appeals”. Priya has also recently been appointed as a Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge (Immigration and Asylum).
