What Attendees Are Saying:

This course gave me a real initial insight into the effects that early trauma can have upon the brain, affecting an individual’s capacity to cope and ultimately be susceptible and ‘drawn’ towards addictive behaviours. This knowledge will have a real positive effect on my practice. It was both fascinating and informative and I will definitely recommend the course to other professionals and individuals. Jackie C, Psychotherapist

Well presented, emphasis on compassionate approach whilst describing science. It’s hard to present complex neuropathology and incorporate the psychological elements. I would highly recommend this course, really good content and value for money. Karen D., Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

I liked the presenter’s manner, very knowledgeable but also very approachable. I will be sharing key points with my team who work in gambling education. Christina D., Project Development Officer, Scottish Gambling Education Hub

I found it really interesting and educational. I am a Family Recovery coach and work with the loved ones of addicts. I nurture them to prioritise their self-care by creating bespoke copying strategies as well as learning about addiction and how to support the addicted loved one in the right way. The families become addicted to the addicts’ emotions and behaviours without realising it, so the models you went through today also relate to the recovery journey of the Families. It's virtually a mirror image. Linda E.

Thank you so much for today’s course, I found it really informative and it has helped me to reconnect to the need for compassion, understanding and support in working with traumatised and abused clients. It has also allowed me some much needed self compassion. Fiona S.

An absolutely amazing course again, not just as a professional but for personal reasons I wanted to watch this webinar. My brother recently passed away sadly 2 months ago due to addiction with alcohol. I really found this very insightful on all levels. It will never bring my brother back, but it will help me massively, professionally and personally. Thank you so much once again! Paula T., Counsellor

Excellent course as always, good balance of information & techniques. Sam B., Counsellor

I would definitely recommend this course to colleagues, patients and anyone struggling with addiction. Annamarie M., Mental Health Nurse

Fabulous snapshot and summary that we can use to support our staff and clients. Delivered in a friendly but professional and engaging style. I really admire the passion in the delivery. We work tirelessly to influence others to learn more about addiction, understand and show compassion as our service users do not get the support they deserve as they are wrongly judged by many others, including professionals. It was extremely empowering to hear that our views are backed by science and shared so passionately. Sally Harrington, Director of Adult Services, Next Chapter (domestic abuse refuge)

I would recommend this course to all people working in the addiction field, you may feel you know it all but unless you have lived in addiction do you really understand? Lorna P., Recovery Refuge Manager

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the subject matter. I attended the course with a specific interest in the area of addition however, I also discovered understanding of my own brain and its functioning. The session has given me a huge depth of awareness which hopefully will be experienced through my compassion towards others. In the past, I attended a Trauma, the brain and recovery course and I am booked on two other courses. This, I feel, is my testimony to how hugely educative

your courses are. Thank you. Sherry K.

Thank you Wale for a wonderful learning experience this evening. I am in recovery from alcohol addiction myself (3 years) and also currently a full time student at University studying psychology, and I found your course full of enlightening information. This is the second course I have attended of yours and I think you are incredibly knowledgeable. I attended the Intrusive Thoughts course in Maidstone a couple of years ago now and I am sure I will be back for much more! Sarah G.

Thank you for your time tonight, the event was very informative and will stand me in good stead for my position as an Occupational Therapist in Addictions that I am starting next week. Rowena H.

I love all Wale’s courses as he makes the information relatable and easy to understand. All his courses are relevant to me too as I work in a residential rehab for addicts. Julie C., Therapist and Therapy Manager of Residential Treatment Centre

Thank you for a well informed and educative seminar on Addiction last night. It has really helped in informing my practice as a Counsellor and a Psychotherapist. Uzochukwu I.

Considering the current pandemic, the course was delivered in a manner that allowed for interaction with other attendees, this was unexpected, very useful and very well carried out. Kayleigh P. Massage Therapist

I think that a very complex subject has been made simple to understand and digest. Well done! Amanda E., Counsellor

Definitely worth 90 minutes of my day! Will look into other relevant courses, eg polyvagal theory, PTSD… Great to have presentation in advance (some courses only give them out after the course) as it was then easier to follow the slides and make better notes. Deb M., Clinical Hypotherapist & Psychotherapist

Wale was very thorough and his passion comes through. The content and handouts were clear and informative. Lorna F., Prison Counsellor

Wale delivers the information in a friendly and accessible way - Thank you. The notes and worksheets include references to enable further reading on the subjects which I find essential. Vikki M.

Thank you for such an interesting and down to earth presentation of what is a complicated subject. Wale’s unique approach cements it altogether. Jeanette A. (19/11/20)

"Wale helps to understand scientific/technical language and makes learning easier." Chrissy N., Counsellor (12/10/20)

"Brilliant! I love the way Wale makes this information accessible and have total admiration and gratitude for all the work that Wale and MindBodyBreakthrough are putting out into the world." Louise L., Mindset & Wellbeing Coach (23/9/20)

"There was a lot to take in which was great. MindBody Breakthrough always delivers with a positive vibe and energy…thank you." Kellie F., Trainee Counsellor (23/9/20)
