This session will provide you with information about Intellectual Property (IP) in the context of PhD study and the potential exploitation of your research.

The session will provide an opportunity to explore the following issues:

What is Intellectual Property (IP)?

Who we are (IP Team) and how can we support you

Who owns my IP and what happens if there is more than one inventor and/or more than one institution

Funder IP requirements

Industrial collaborations and IP

Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs)

Exploitation of IP in the context of PhD studies

Practical/ contractual arrangements that might arise and how these can be overcome

IP exploitation in the context of research impact.
