In this second webinar in our programme, we will take a closer look at internal communication and employee engagement.


We will discuss:

  • The difference between work and organisational engagement
  • Cognitive, emotional and behavioural engagement
  • The role of internal communication; informed employee voice in employee engagement

 

Kevin Ruck, Founding Director at PR Academy, will explain why it is important to differentiate between work and organisational engagement.


Many Human Resource Management approaches to employee engagement tend to focus on the way that an employee is engaged with their work.


In contrast, Kevin believes that employees are also engaged with the organisation that they work for, and this has important consequences for the role of internal communication.


He will explain how engagement can be described in terms of what employees think and feel about their organisation and how they behave as a result.


Finally, Kevin considers the thinking behind the concept of ‘informed employee voice’ an approach that combines the importance of keeping employees informed and giving them a say about what goes on in their organisation.


Ultimately, Kevin believes that this will lead to higher levels of organisational engagement.
