Share Webinar: From £1 million to £10 million: strategy for next level growth

Event Details

US startups have long been encouraged to ‘go big or go home’ – and there are plenty of UK entrepreneurs following suit, looking to seize on windows of opportunity or simply take their business to another level.

This webinar with Mainstage Travel founder Rob Tominey will explore growth strategies for taking a business from £1m to £10m and beyond.

Tominey started the youth-focused package holiday company in 2011 and grew it to revenues of £1.6m within the first 18 months. He secured investment from Piers Linney on Dragon’s Den in 2013 and has since set about expanding the company’s travel technology platform, which allows hotels and festivals to easily integrate flights to their direct sales platforms. He’s on track to hit revenues of £10m this year.

Join the webinar to hear how Tominey:

- Built a scalable online business model

- Secured growth funding

- Prepared the business for expansion

- Identified multiple revenue streams

The webinar will be hosted by Smarta co-founder Matt Thomas and both he and Tominey will be on hand to answer your questions.

Rob Tominey

Rob showed a flare for entrepreneurship early on, launching businesses whilst still at school. He was already running his own online ticket company when he met his business partner, Aden Levin. In 2011 they set up Mainstage Travel, to capture a gap in the market for cost-effective, youth-focussed package holidays. The company grew quickly in its first two years, reaching a turnover of £1.6m within the first 18 months.

Rob Tominey approached the BBC’s Dragon’s Den programme in 2013 and was selected to pitch Mainstage Travel with his business partner, Aden. Dragon Piers Linney bought a 15% share in the business, valuing the two year old company at £670,000. Since then, Mainstage Travel has grown its holiday business whilst simultaneously growing its travel technology platform, which allows hotels and festivals to easily integrate flights to their direct sales platforms. Mainstage Travel is expected to grow to a £10m company within 2 years.
