Event description

If you are a patient, member of the public or work in a charity and have an interest in how health data is used for research and innovation, please join us for this online live stream of our event on 22 January. This webinar will give you the opportunity to watch the introductory discussions live, and will finish with information on how to engage going forward.

At Health Data Research UK our mission is to connect health data to make discoveries that improve people’s lives. We are doing this by running a UK-wide programme that will create a way to safely and responsibly use health data at scale for research and innovation.

This four-year programme, which started in September 2018, will create ‘Digital Innovation Hubs’ across the UK. It is funded by the government via the UK Research and Innovation’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

To ensure this work delivers real benefits for people living in the UK we want to bring together patients and the public to help us design and define the requirements for this programme. In particular, we’d like your views on how to embed patient and public engagement and involvement in the Digital Innovation Hub Programme and your thoughts on how to earn trust in how health data is used for research.

This is one of a series of engagement events as part of our ‘design and dialogue’ phase. There will be an opportunity for webinar attendees to engage after the webinar is complete.

Details of how to join the webinar will be emailed to attendees before the event. Please note that registration for this webinar will close 24 hours before the event. If you have any queries please email us.

The event will be chaired by an independent facilitator and is organised in partnership with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC).
