Since the 2nd December 2024, local authorities in England have the power to hold rental auctions to let vacant high-street premises. By granting these new powers, the government hopes “to breathe new life back into high streets and transform long-term empty shops”.
Make CIC is running a trailblazer project to bring forward Highstreet Rental Auctions in Birkenhead, with the aim of understanding the process and sharing findings, to support the use of auctions across the Liverpool City Region.
Join the webinar to learn about the process and hear from Make CIC about using this as a tool to support community-led regeneration across LCR.
Join this focused session to:
- Understand the new High Street Rental Auction powers and how to use them effectively.
- Learn from an early adopter’s real-world experience.
- Explore why this matters for our communities – and why now is the time to act.
- Ask your questions in an open Q&A.
Date & Time: Wednesday 24th September, 10am -12pm
Who should attend: This is targeted at those who have the most power over the process. Elected members and council officers, especially those working on regeneration, planning, and economic development, will find this session useful.
