Horizon 2020 is the biggest European Union funding programme where EUR 5,69 billion are used for promoting clean and efficient energy for Europe.
The newly launched 2016-2017 Horizon 2020 calls make available EUR 1 344 millions for projects related to Energy Efficiency (EE), Competitive Low Carbon Energy (LCE) and Smart and Sustainable Cities (SCC).
The webinar will be an opportunity to further explore possibilities offered by Horizon 2020 for local authorities interested in participating in projects promoting research and innovation on heating and cooling technologies, consumer engagement, sustainable buildings and renewable energy.
Covenant of Mayors Office
The Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy brings together thousands of local and regional authorities voluntarily committed to implementing EU climate and energy objectives on their territory.
New signatories now pledge to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 40% by 2030 and to adopt an integrated approach to tackling mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
The Covenant of Mayors Office (CoMO) is managed by a consortium of local and regional authorities networks, led by Energy Cities, composed of Climate Alliance, CEMR, Eurocities, Fedarene and ICLEI Europe.
