Webinar: Improving Energy Efficiency in Buildings - Financing investments
Tue 10 May 2016, 10:00 – 11:00 CEST
While improving the energy performance of existing buildings holds a vast potential and a no-regret business case to secure Europe’s (energy) future, current investments are very low and struggling to get up to speed for diverse reasons.
The Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE) in Brussels estimates that some €60-100bn per year should be invested in European building stock to achieve the 2020 goals. Current investment is below half of this sum.
How is Europe trying to scale up these investments? What are the mature and emerging funds to finance the refurbishment of buildings? What are the actions municipalities can start with - even if they have not (much) upfront money to invest? What are the suggestions of the EURONET 50/50 project to enhance the energy performance of school buildings?
