Event description

MetaCell, world leaders in software for neuroscience, are hosting a live webinar to discuss the intersections between deep learning and neuroscience.

Stephen Larson, CEO and co-founder of MetaCell, will chair a panel of data scientists and machine learning experts to understand possible future directions neuroscience could take to implement some of the latest developments in deep learning.

Webinar panelists:

  • Luca Biasiolli, Senior Researcher, University of Oxford. Luca has many years experience developing and validating MRI acquisition and analysis methods (e.g. image registration, segmentation and classification algorithms), and applying them for in-vivo characterization of cardiovascular disease, with particular attention to atherosclerosis.
  • Raj Rikhy, Senior Program Manager, Microsoft AI + Research. Raj has worked on many deep learning projects - currently at Microsoft and more recently at IBM - including Watson NLP, Vision, PowerAI and ONNX.
  • Chris Littlewood, Co-founder and Director of Data Science & Innovation, Filtered Technologies. Chris leads work on algorithm development, data analysis, and new product R&D at Filtered, an award-winning provider of personalized training.

By attending the webinar you will:

  • Learn from experts who have successfully applied deep learning to solve challenges in different sectors.

  • Discover how neuroscience can help create solutions to engineering problems, identify predictive variables, and set benchmarks for simple models of the brain.

This live talk will take place on Friday 26th April at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST. It will last 45-60 minutes and you'll be able to ask our speakers questions from the get-go making the session truly interactive.

If you're interested but unsure whether you can attend or not, please register anyway and we'll send you the recording as soon as it's available.

  • Day: Friday 26th April
  • Time: 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST
  • Location: Online. Upon registration, you'll receive two emails; one from Eventbrite (confirming your registration), and one from GoToWebinar (with the link to join the talk). If you don't receive them please contact us ASAP (info@metacell.us)
  • Who is this for? Anyone with an active interest in data science, deep learning, AI and neuroscience - in particular those who work in modelling, data visualization and analysis.
