  • Do you know what facilitation skills are?

  • Do you know of the importance of facilitation skills within teaching , mentoring or leadership?

  • Would you like to learn more about the role of an effective facilitator?

In this webinar, we will look at facilitation, why facilitation skills are important in research and teaching, how they might be used and to help you develop a plan for your own development as a facilitator. The session will begin with an introduction to facilitation, what it is and what it is not and the underlying skills involved in being an effective facilitator. We will also review some of the underlying pedagogy of facilitation, specifically in reference to University teaching and end with discussion on the type of roles where facilitation skills are used and how you might implement and develop facilitation skills in your own working area.

This webinar the first of the series of sessions on facilitation that are open to all PGRs at Liverpool and invited researchers in the North West and Yorkshire region. The following workshops build on the facilitation skills introduced in this webinar (follow links for further details and registration).

Registration: This workshop is open to all PhD Researchers at the University of Liverpool and to invited Post-graduate researchers from Universities in the North West and Yorkshire Postgraduate Research Training Group.
