PROMOTING MENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKLACE

The Equality Commission is holding an online seminar on mental health in the workplace. The effect of the pandemic on work and jobs means that this online seminar event is more important than ever for employers and HR professionals.

Attendees will learn about the law surrounding mental health in the workplace, as well as how to develop policies and procedures designed to build key equality workplace priorities that will promote and safeguard everyone’s mental health in the workplace.

Equality Chief Commissioner Geraldine McGahey OBE will welcome delegates, followed by short addresses by Chair of the NI Assembly Committee on Mental Health Mark Durkan MLA and the Mental Health Champion for NI, Prof Siobhán O'Neill.

You will hear from Claire Kelly of the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland, talking about managing stress in the workplace, and Edyth Dunlop of the NI Union for Supported Employment talking about supporting employees with mental health issues.

Equality Commission staff will talk through the services and support available to tackle the challenge of mental ill health at work so that employers are able to comply with their duties under equality laws.
