SYNOPSIS
Alex Cameron will deliver a talk on the importance of malware training for the general public and organisations. Despite the rise of technical security controls, human factors remain a critical vulnerability in the spread of malware.
Existing e-learning methods often fall short in equipping individuals to recognise and avoid risky behaviours. In this talk, Alex will introduce the concept and architecture of a scalable malware training platform designed to make malware awareness more engaging, practical, and accessible.
The session will explore existing malware training approaches and their limitations, the challenges of analysing and learning about malware, and how simulated training can provide a safe yet realistic experience of real-world malware attacks.
The talk will conclude with evaluation findings from both cyber security experts and wider users, demonstrating the platform’s effectiveness.
