Matt Cooper, Crowdcube

Matt Cooper is head of business development for Crowdcube, the worlds leading equity crowdfunding platform. He has 18 years’ expertise spanning the financial services and FMCG sectors among others, along with a passion for disrupting established industries through innovative products and services. 


Before joining Crowdcube Matt was Sales Director at MarketInvoice and prior to that held a senior leadership role at the One brand where driving the commercial success of the business enabled the team to donate over £10.0m to development projects in sub-Saharan Africa.

Darren Hart, Santander

Darren’s banking and private equity career has seen him supporting high growth SME’s for over 20 years. 

In 2011, Darren joined Santander to create and build its £200m Growth Capital offering, in addition to its traditional lending operation, enabling businesses to unlock their potential without diluting equity. 

Matt Thomas, Smarta

COO at Smarta, he oversees all business activity and strategy alongside founder Shaa Wasmund. A business journo by trade, Matt was part of the founding team at Smarta having previously edited and a number of B2B trade titles. 

He’s a mentor, coach and small business obsessive and stopped counting the number of entrepreneurs he¹d interviewed when he got to 1,000. Matt has authored two books: 'Starting Your Own Shops' and 'The Smarta Way To Do Business. In 2011, he was named in the Courvoisier Future 500, CEO collection of the most talented, inspirational and forward thinking people in the UK.
