Event description

Description

If you are looking to deliver end-point assessment in future (or prepare apprentices for it), you will need to get to grips with multiple assessment methods specified in the new assessment plans.

Some of these methods are new to apprenticeships, others will need to be delivered differently.

We’re hosting an in-depth webinar series taking you through the eight most common end-point assessment methods – each webinar will cover what the method is; when it is used; how it works in practice; what it assesses (and doesn’t assess); issues around validity, reliability and robustness; and how you conduct it in the real world.

Each webinar will give you a good grounding in the theory, but also provide you with practical advice, actions and tools to help you deliver each assessment method in practice (or prepare your apprentices for it).

1. Mastering the Professional Discussion – Mon, 12th Feb (9.30-10.30am)

2. Working with Showcases or Presentations – Tues, 13th Feb (9.30-10.30am)

3. The dynamics of Written Tests and Multiple Choice Assessments – Mon, 19th Feb (9.30-10.30am)

4. Mastering Interviews – Tues, 20th Feb (9.30-10.30am)

5. Getting the most from Observed Assessment – Tues, 27th Feb (9.30-10.30am)

6. Working with Portfolios – Tues, 13th March (9.30-10.30am)

7. Designing the Practical Assessment – Tues, 20th March (9.30-10.30am)

8. Projects and assessment – Tues, 27th March (9.30-10.30am)

You can book onto individual webinars for £49 (+VAT), or book onto the whole series for just £245 (+VAT). This includes the live webinars (with Q&A), and supporting tools / resources.

Who are these webinars for?

The webinar series has been designed for individuals planning to deliver (or already delivering) end-point assessments. It will also be helpful for trainer-assessors preparing apprentices on-programme for the end-point assessment.

Facilitators and speakers

The webinar series will be facilitated by Chris Cherry, an SDN expert in apprenticeship on-programme training and end-point assessment. Chris has been heavily involved in the development of new standards and assessment plans, as well as supporting many EPAOs and hundreds of individuals to understand and prepare to deliver end-point assessment. Chris holds a Masters in assessment theory and is well published in this area.

Why an SDN webinar series?

SDN are leading experts in the apprenticeship reforms - we've helped to set up some of the first EPAOs now offering end-point assessment, and we're the first registered centre in the UK approved to deliver the Level 3 End-Point Assessment qualification. We’ve supported over 3,000 apprenticeship staff, from 900 organisations, to help prepare to deliver apprenticeship standards and understand end-point assessment. We’ve also worked closely with over 70 of the trailblazer employer groups, giving us a unique insight into what is required. SDN also authored the Future Apprenticeships toolkit.
