The UP and UPC – institutions and industry panel debate
After a period of Brexit-induced uncertainty, the UP and UPC loom large on the horizon again. In this exclusive event, AIPPI UK has invited speakers from the EPO (Michael Froehlich) and the UK IPO (Laura Starrs) to give an institutional perspective on what practitioners can expect when the new system comes into effect, what more remains to be done to get there, and how the institutions themselves are preparing for change. Nokia’s Tim Frain will give an industry perspective on what users are doing to prepare for the new system and what their hopes are, and moderator Alan Johnson (Bristows) will provide a private practice view whilst at the same time asking some searching questions of the panellists in what promises to be a lively and informative debate.
1. There is no charge for members to dial in to the webinar. There is a £20 charge for non-members.
2. Whilst the event is billed to start at 6pm, it is primarily a live event (rather than primarily a webinar) and our attendees are not known for their punctuality, so it is likely that the actual start time will be closer to 6.05 or even 6.10pm.
3. The webinar is live only and is not recorded – the intention is simply for webinar attendees to be able to listen to the talk as if present in person.
4. We cannot rule out further technical problems. Should you find you cannot log in or that you lose sound and/or vision during the webinar, please email email@example.com the following day to let us know (that email will be seen by AIPPI secretary Sara Ashby and her PA) (but please do so politely, as this is a non-money making trial and they provide their services voluntarily!). In the event of a technical failure, any fee paid will be refunded.
