About this event

Wednesday Webinar – Seeking Effective Support in Education with Mark Patterson

Mark is a Senior Advice and Information Officer supporting the delivery and development of Enquire’s advice and information including the helpline, website and outreach programme. Mark has supported children and young people who face challenges to their learning as a mentor and a children’s panel member. He has a Scots law degree and previously worked in a range of roles with Citizens Advice Scotland, including as an In-Court Adviser.

This webinar will explore how families and professionals can navigate the education system to secure the right support for children and young people with diagnosed or suspected FASD.

Whether you’re new to the process or have been navigating it for a while, this session will provide helpful insights into making support work for learners with FASD and other additional needs.

Target audienceThis session is ideal for parents, carers, and professionals who support children or young people with diagnosed or suspected FASD and want to better understand their rights and options within the education system.

Organised by

FASD Hub Scotland is a tiered support service for all parents and carers (adoptive and biological parents, kinship and foster carers) of children and young people who have been affected - or may have been - by prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE). This prenatal exposure to alcohol can lead to a condition called fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). FASD Hub Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government, hosted and managed by Adoption UK in Scotland.

If you are a parent or carer for someone with PAE/FASD, or a professional working with a family, you can access our Helpline Tuesday-Friday, 10am-2.30pm, by calling 0300 666 0006 (select option 2).
