Wee Green Screen - Natura Urbana
Event Information
About this Event
Wee Green Screen is part of our campaign for Glasgow to become National Park City – a greener, healthier and wilder city for all citizens. With bars, restaurants and cinemas closed across our city once more we're running a series of online screenings of films from around the world with themes linked to the aims of the National Park City.
Our second screening is NATURA URBANA | THE BRACHEN OF BERLIN - which tells the post-war history of Berlin through its plants. The film takes us on a unique journey through Berlin ranging from the botanical microcosm of cracked paving stones to elaborate attempts to map the entire city in terms of its distinctive ecological zones. Watch the trailer at https://www.naturaurbana.org/
We'll be joined by filmmaker Matthew Gandy, Professor of Geography at the University of Cambridge, for the post-screening discussion.
We recently launched the first draft of our proposal for Glasgow to become a National Park City, and we’re looking for projects that support our vision. We hope the films and follow up discussions will help inspire ideas for action. Find out more at https://www.glasgownationalparkcity.org/
So... grab your favourite cinema snack and join us to look at how we can come together to take some crucial steps towards putting nature at the heart of everything we do.
