About this event

An opportunity for an in-depth examination of two remarkable items from the 1760s and 1820/30s to explore occupations and workplace community organising in Glasgow.

The Cotton Spinners tray, usually on display in the People’s Palace, gives an insight into early trade unionism, textile industrialisation and source of this wealth. The Journeyman Bakers box tells of community support and welfare and the bakers’ work.
