Frequently asked questions

Who is the Festival of Trusteeship for?

The Festival is for current trustees, aspiring trustees, charity leaders, governance professionals and anyone interested in the future of board leadership. The Festival is led by Eastside People, during Trustees' Week 2025, proudly supported by the Institute of Leadership.

Do I need to attend the whole week?

Not at all! You can attend as many or as few sessions as you like. Each event is individually ticketed, so you can choose what fits your schedule and interests. However, you may prefer a weekly pass which includes access to all 15 events and we will send pass holders the recordings automatically.

How do I access the online sessions?

Online sessions will be via Zoom. You’ll receive a confirmation email after booking with access details. We’ll also send reminders and joining links ahead of each session.

Are the events free?

Sessions for aspiring trustees are free to attend, as is our launch event with the Charity Commission. Most events have a small fee to cover costs. We keep ticket prices low thanks to the support of our sponsors. Please see individual event listings for details. A weekly pass offers the best value.

I’ve never been a trustee before, can I still attend?

Absolutely. Whether you're just curious or actively looking for a role, this Festival is a great place to learn, connect and explore next steps. In particular, if you’re thinking of becoming a trustee you can attend any of our ‘Aspiring Trustee’ sessions at no charge.

How do I keep updated about the Festival?

Follow Eastside People on LinkedIn or sign up to our Festival mailing list (https://www.tfaforms.com/5171210) for the latest announcements and new session drops. Once you have registered for the Festival, we will keep you up to date on the sessions you will be attending.

How much will the tickets cost?

Tickets to the Festival of Trusteeship 2025 are priced as follows: Early bird weekly pass: £24 (incl VAT) Weekly pass: £30 (incl VAT) Individual events: £12 (incl VAT) Post event recordings box set for non-ticket holders (£30). All sessions for aspiring trustees are free of charge.

I can’t come to the festival; will I be able to access recordings?

Yes. You’ll be able to order a box set of all the recorded sessions for £30 via this Eventbrite page. The session recordings will also be available for free on Eastside People’s YouTube channel sometime in 2026. A weekly pass also gives you access to all recordings the week after the Festival.

How can I find my Zoom links once I’ve bought my ticket?

When you book via EventBrite our ticketing platform, you will receive confirmation emails that include your Zoom links. If you haven’t received anything, please check your spam folder. It’s a good idea to copy your Zoom links into a calendar entry for the day of your session(s) so that you have them

What reasonable adjustments are in place and who can I talk to about any access requirements?

We want all aspiring and serving trustees to be able to enjoy the Festival. Closed captions are enabled on all Festival sessions. If there are other ways in which we can make the Festival more accessible to you, please contact us via the email fot@eastsidepeople.org.

Is there a discount if I want to make this available to my fellow trustees?

Yes, please select the "Bring Your Board" ticket when you check out. This gives you access to a weekly pass for £20 each, for a minimum of 3 tickets.

I can't afford to attend. What should I do?

We’re committed to making the Festival of Trusteeship as inclusive and accessible as possible. Please email us at fot@eastsidepeople.org and a member of the team will get back to you. All requests will be handled confidentially and with discretion.

How does a Weekly Pass work?

Weekly pass holders have access to all 15 events across the week. You will be sent the Zoom links and recordings for all events. You don't need to book events separately if you have a Weekly Pass.
