About this event

About the workshops

Drop into our weekly theatre workshops where we’ll play games, explore different performance skills, develop your creativity, make new friends, and have some fun. Laughter is 100% guaranteed.

No previous experience is necessary. You might have done some theatre when you were in school, or you just want to do something creative for an hour or two a week. Or maybe, you have always dreamt of becoming an actor but have not known where to start. If this sounds like you, Brighton People's Theatre is the place for you.

Workshops are led by professional theatre directors, and you’ll meet other local people interested in theatre, just like you. Choose to join us for as many or as few workshops as you like. Come and play.

These workshops are for people who live in Portslade. If you don't live in this neighbourhood, have a look at our website ( for other weekly workshops taking place in different neighbourhoods across the city.

Thanks to the support of Brighton and Hove buses we are able to offer day saver bus tickets to those on low incomes wanting to attend our workshops. If you would like more information on how we can support your travel needs please contact our Operations Manager Fran at

We prioritise people who have had the fewest opportunities to access arts and cultural activities. Our activities are open to people over the age of 18, with a BNpostcode, and who have never worked professionally in the arts.

We know booking on Eventbrite can sometimes be difficult. If you are having trouble booking you can contact our Operations Manager Fran via or 07503430188.

If all the world’s a stage, then theatre is for everyone. Curtain up. Come and play.

Brighton People’s Theatre is telling our stories. Putting our tales of friendship, of adventure and of loss at centre-stage. Shining a spotlight on the stories that created the people of this city by the sea, the people who make it special.

People of Brighton and Hove: If you are over 18, are not a professional artist and live in a BN postcode area, get involved with Brighton People’s Theatre.
