Did you know that hidden in the trees surrounding Weelsby Woods, lies Weelsby Hall.
One of the best kept secrets in North East Lincolnshire.

Join us for a journey through time as we unlock the doors to one of the grandest Victorian buildings in North East Lincolnshire. Full of rich history and architectural beauty, you’re invited to explore Weelsby Hall’s fascinating past as part of the Heritage Open Days festival.

Made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund

Thanks to National Lottery players, works are underway for the sensitive restoration and renovation of the Grade II listed building, to create an inclusive and sustainable future for Weelsby Hall, with development funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Built for George Sleight, the first Baronet of Weelsby, in the late 1890s, Weelsby Hall is vitally important to Grimsby’s local history and fishing heritage. It was acquired by Linkage Community Trust in 1982 to serve the local and national needs of people with learning disabilities and it continues to provide a strong sense of place for the Linkage community in Grimsby.

On Sunday 21st September 2025 the grand Weelsby Hall will be open to the public as part of the Heritage Open Days festival, England’s largest festival of history and culture.

What to expect

On Sunday 21st September 2025 we will be offering free guided tours around part of Weelsby Hall and an opportunity to explore the grounds.
