This comic and cartooning course aimed at primary aged children aged 6-11 (ish.)
In this series of 4 (4 x sessions for £20) weekly hands-on drawing activities, you will learn how to make original pages of cartoon art that describe yourself, your family and your culture.
The sessions are delivered at 6-7pm UK Time on Thursdays (5th, 12th, 19th, 16th November) You will learn how to create cartoon characters based on people you know, stories you have lived, and interests you have. All the steps you need to know to create comics and graphic novels will be covered including character designing, developing backgrounds, telling stories with comics, lettering, and more.
Julian Lawrence is an award-winning cartoonist and educator specializing in comic books. Born in England and raised bilingual English-French in Québec, his work has been published and displayed internationally. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Comics and Graphic Novels at Teesside University in Middlesbrough.
