Overview

Ever wonder what the National Library does? Come along to one of our introductory tours to learn about our work, and how we can help you.

Join us for a tour of the Visitor Centre of National Library of Scotland at George IV Bridge, where you'll discover some of the treasures that make The National Library of Scotland a cornerstone of Scotland's cultural heritage.

Our guides will introduce you to the story of the Library's building and history, and you will learn about the Library's role in preserving the nation's history. Find out how you can join the Library, explore our collections, and use the Library's resources in your life.

After the tour ends, explore our shop, cafe and exhibitions where you can view treasures from the collections, from rare manuscripts to contemporary digital archives.

All are welcome!

For visitors with accessibility requirements, please contact library staff to assist with operating the accessibility lifts in the Visitor Centre.
