We are excited to welcome you to the BCS volunteering community! Whether you’re interested in volunteering with BCS, a new volunteer, or transitioning into a new role, we invite you to join our virtual Volunteer Meet and Greet.

At BCS, we truly value the contributions of our volunteers, and this session is designed to provide you with all the tools and support you need to thrive on your volunteering journey. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow new volunteers, share experiences, and build lasting relationships within the BCS community.

You’ll also have the chance to hear from Jon Jeffery (BCS Head of Community) Jak Dinsdale (BCS Community Development and Partnerships Manager), and Thayeba Hussain (BCS Membership Engagement Coordinator). They will provide valuable insights into BCS, our vibrant community, and offer tips on effectively running a member group.

Who is this event for?

This event is for new BCS volunteers, existing volunteers who have recently taken on a new committee role, or those who wish to find out more about volunteering with BCS. It’s an opportunity to connect with others and gain insight into your volunteering responsibilities.

What will I learn from the session?

You will learn about BCS, our communities, and the best practices for running a member group. You’ll also get the chance to ask any questions and hear directly from key BCS team members and other BCS volunteers.

Do I need to prepare anything for the event?

No preparation is needed! Just bring any questions you may have about your new role or BCS volunteering, and an open mind for connecting with fellow volunteers.

Will there be opportunities to ask questions?

Yes, there will be dedicated time for questions and answers, where you can ask questions about your role, BCS processes, and how to engage with the community.

How do I join the virtual session?

Once you’ve registered for the event, you’ll receive a link to join the virtual Meet and Greet. Simply click the link at the event's scheduled time to participate. You’ll also receive reminders prior to the event which will also include joining instructions.
