Welcome to Worth

Join writer and filmmaker Robert Dee and guests for an intimate screening and live reading exploring the haunted textures of history, memory, and place.

Set in the fictional spillover new town of Worth—a shadowy satellite suburb built on buried trauma and psychic residue—this one-off event brings together three short films and three short story readings, all drawing inspiration from British folklore, the eerie public information films of the COI, Freud’s The Uncanny, and the spectral sensibility of hauntology.

Each piece offers a glimpse into a larger imagined world, where personal grief and collective history blur; where childhood memories warp into myth; and where the rational planning of postwar progress gives way to something stranger, older, and unresolved.
