Course aims and objectives

To instruct managers in the principles of Welfare Centre/evacuee management.

On completion of this event students will have gained an understanding and knowledge of the following:

  • The difference between a Survivor Reception and Welfare Centre
  • The new role of Administration Manager
  • The Multi-agency environment of a Welfare Centre
  • Associated staffing issues in particular the role of the Key Worker
  • Evacuee concerns and how to address them

Target audience

District, Kent County Council. NHS and key Voluntary Sector personnel with a potential role in the management of rest centres and survivor/evacuee needs.

Please note that attendees will need to attend a refresher course after three years.

Attendees should ideally have completed the e-learning introduction to emergency planning awareness or attended the Welfare Centre training.

Course Fee

This training is funded through Part 1 of the KRF Partnership Agreement.

This event is restricted to 20 delegates per course, so early booking is advised.
