Camden Council is inviting you to take part in our free, in-person Welfare & Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) and Ask for Angela training, delivered by the Safer Business Network.

Whether you work in hospitality, security, events or customer service in Camden, this interactive session will equip you to:

  • Recognise the signs that someone may be at risk or in need of help;
  • Understand the simple but powerful “Ask for Angela” initiative;
  • Respond quickly, discreetly and confidently when someone reaches out for support;
  • Create a safer and more inclusive environment for all.

Delivered in a practical and engaging format, the training blends real-life scenarios with clear guidance that you can apply in your day-to-day role.

All participants receive certification of being WAVE and Ask for Angela trained.

Is this training only for people working in Camden?

Yes, this training is only for people working in venues and businesses that are based in the London Borough of Camden.

Where is the training taking place?

The training is taking place in the Garden Suite at the Royal National Hotel, 38-51 Bedford Way London WC1H 0DG. When you arrive at the hotel, please use the entrance directly opposite the reception. This entrance is between The London Pub and Blooms coffee shop.

How long does the training last?

The training is for two hours (from 2.30pm - 4.30pm), with a short break in the middle.

Do I need to stay for the whole training?

Yes, it is important to attend the full two-hour training to receive all the relevant knowledge. Certification is only awarded to participants who complete the entire session.

Can I invite other team members from my Camden venue/business?

Yes, all those working in Camden venues/businesses are welcome. However, each participant has to register individually for a ticket.
