Event Details

Aim:
Prof Cary Cooper highlighted the evidence based connection between employee well-being and organisational performance at the 2016 CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition.  Building on this, the CIPD have identified "well-being in the workplace" as an area which branches should be exploring and developing.  This is an informal event facilitated by a branch  member, where we will explore some of the key facts and issues followed by a sit down dinner in the award winning Graduates restaurant.  After a delicious meal you will work in groups which will focus on a particular issue within the Employee Wellbeing agenda.  Throughout the evening you will rotate through each issue building up your knowledge and providing you with ideas to develop in your own organisation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To understand the links between well being at work and business performance and be able to provide and evidence base why businesses should prioritise this area.
  • To be aware of current CIPD thinking and research on well being at work.
  • To identify well-being solutions at work.
  • To build your professional network in the local area.

Who Should Attend:

  • HR Assistants
  • HR Managers
  • HR Business Partners
  • Operation and production management who engage with people management issues
  • Anyone with people responsibility

Registration will commence from 5.30 with a short scene setting introduction before a networking dinner.  Following this there will be the opportunity to find out about the health and wellbeing practices in local organisations and an opportunity to share challenges and solutions to address this important issue.  The session will end with the plenary to pick up key issues from each working group.
