Welcome to Well Versed: SW London's Poetry Party

Join us for a night of acts, the chance to share your work and connect with our local likeminded gang. Make new friends, join the party and have a cheeky marg or 2 with us!

We're located at the Mezzanine in Tooting Market, a super cool and intimate space - with the chance to explore the delish food stalls and bars before/during the breaks.

Our fab acts will be announced on our IG @wellversedldn!

DM us on Instagram to grab a slot for our Open Mic session - we'll be randomly picking these from a hat on the 28th July.

The Mezzanine is located in Tooting Market, off of Totterdown Street (the entrance to the right of F45!) Then, just head up the stairs when you see the sign for The Mezzanine. We'll be around to herd you in on the day!

For you route planners: we're located a 4 minute walk from Tooting Broadway Station (Northern Line). There are also plenty of bus stops nearby, plus Tooting Overground.

Frequently asked questions

What time do doors open & when does the event finish?

Doors open at 7:00pm, which gives you plenty of time to come in, grab a drink and get the party started! The speakers will kick off at 7:30, starting with our open mic. The event will finish around 10pm, but since the venue closes at 11pm, there's plenty of time for you to stay and chat/boogie!

How do I sign up to your Open Mic?

DM us on Instagram! Slots will be limited (as we can't go all night, as much as we'd love to), so we’ll be picking our open mic line up from a hat on 28th July.

Who can sign up for the Open Mic?

Anyone & everyone! All we ask is that you have 1-3 poems prepared beforehand. So, dust off your notes page (or notebook if you're oldschool) and get scribbling. Max 5 mins!

Can I bring food in?

Yes! You can bring in food from anywhere in Tooting Market, or The Mezzanine has a great menu too. Go and find your fave dishes before, or we will have some breaks where you can check out the great selection of restaurants.

Can I bring drinks in?

No - there is a brilliant bar at The Mezzanine with everything you could want. We'd recommend the margs, though ;)
