Have you ever felt overwhelmed at work and under too much pressure? This workshop is for you. You’ll learn about the connection between pressure, wellbeing and fulfilling your potential. This workshop will give you the tools to navigate these areas and thrive at work, no matter how demanding your role. You will learn about the Human Givens (Griffin and Tyrell, 2003) approach to help you flourish and move towards achieving your full potential. You’ll leave with the tools to mitigate stress and increase your well-being.

Content:
- The relationship between pressure, wellbeing and fulfilling potential
- The physiological effects of stress and how to counter these. (Competency vs survival mode)
- The 3 ways to address stress: Stimulus, Response, Intervening
- Type A/ Type B personalities (quiz)
- Locus of control – where is yours (quiz)
- Human Givens (Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell, 2003) - In order to thrive, in addition to getting their physical needs met, human beings also need to have their emotional needs met -in balance:
- Emotional Needs include:
• Security –a safe territory and the room to unfold well
• Sense of autonomy and control
• Feeling part of a wider community
• The need for attention (to give and receive it)
• Friendship, fun, love, intimacy
• Feeling emotionally connected to others
• A sense of status within social groupings
• A sense of achievement
• The need for 'meaning' -being 'stretched'
• The need for 'privacy'.

It follows from Human Givens theory that if a human being is getting all of the above needs met, in ‘balance’, (in addition to their physical needs) they will flourish and will move in the direction of achieving their full potential.
Outcome: Attendees will leave with the knowledge and skills to diminish stress and increase their well-being.
