Description

HAS YOUR CHILD BEEN DIAGNOSED AS BEING ON THE SPECTRUM?

Has your child been diagnosed as being on the spectrum? Have they been labelled ADHD, Aspergers, or viewed as: troubled, difficult to deal with, unable to concentrate or focus, not sleeping, struggling at school in general or even refusing to go to school

As a parent do you feel lost, are you frustrated, do you feel alone, left feeling hopeless, are you looking for answers but dont know where to turn?

My name is Jacky Rands I am a mother to five children and now a grandmother to 6 and in 1990 my son Lee was diagnosed with ADHD aged just 4yrs old. In those days there was no internet, no one knew what ADHD was or how to treat it and my son suffered the terrible consequences of that. At this event I will be telling our story, what happened to Lee over the last 28yrs, how the system did not work for us and what we feel needs to change in order to help children diagnosed today, their struggling familes and how best to move forward in order to support the education system in implementing new ideas

This is why I decided to create this event, I do not want anyone to suffer a second longer than necessary, the information you will learn from this event was not around in 1990 and today conventional treatments for children on the spectrum do not recognise the incredible therapies that changed my sons life. I want you to come along with an open mind and listen to the most amazing therapists who have helped us after so many years of feeling lost, alone and hopeless.

Introducing the therapists:

Karen Revivo: As an advanced CranioSacral therapist, Karen will be giving a talk on birth trauma's, how they impact your childs emotional behaviour, what impacts your childs fight or flight responses and how CranioSacral can help. Karen has been a therapist for over 30yrs, she finished her advanced training in CranioSacral therapy in March 2013. Karen says: "Physiotherapy and CranioSacral therapy are my passion. I believe strongly that the way to achieve positive health is by looking at the balance of the physical, mental and emotional being – the importance of the mind/body connection. I am a manual (hands on) therapist. Since combining Physiotherapy and CranioSacral therapy, I am seeing the best results of my career.

Wendy Smith: Is an Ex-paralympian athlete, EFT Advanced Practitioner, Trainer of Spectrum Emotional Therapy and is a NLP Master & Trainer, she has many tools and years of experience in Personal Development and Emotional Intelligence. She has spent over 20 years studying neurology, self management and personal development/philosophy to physically help herself recover and to create the business she has now and the ability to share real experience with people to help them overcome daily adversity which allows them to become resilient in life.

Late in the evening on September the 1st 1989, Wendy was involved in a serious RTA as a pillion passenger on her best friends motorbike. The accident resulted in numerous cardiac arrests, fractured skull, punctured lung, cracked ribs, spinal fractures and spinal cord lesion. Wendy woke up in hospital paralysed from the chest down days later and told she would never walk again. Her refusal to believe this is what she thinks led to her recovery to where she is now, walking on sticks. Wendy spent 8 months in hospital and walked out on crutches to the disbelief of the medical staff. She developed her own style of rehabilitation and started on the road to recovery. Following massive bouts of depression, she then found Wheelchair Basketball and attended a Paralympic games which reignited a fire and gave her a focus for life. This led to her now working helping others discover the power of their mind. Thoughts create everything and making your mind matter is the key to a happy balanced life.

Carole Ritchie: Hypnotherapist and Trainer, Master Practitioner in NLP & Hypnosis, Psy-Tap and OP2G, Master Trainer and Advanced Practitioner in Future Life Progression, Licensed Senior Team Teach Trainer, Member of The College of Medicine and The Past and Future Lives Society. She is also a Hypnobirthing Teacher and Senior Team Teach Tutor

Carole says her most important job is being Mum/Step-Mum to 5 and Nan to 8. After that, she finds time to be a Therapist and a Master trainer. She says, “One thing about being a Mum is you never feel like you’ve got it completely right. All you can do is learn on the job, listen, trust your instincts and be the best you can be. I would have given anything back then, to have had someone like I am now, to give me more skills and knowledge.”

She beat cancer in 1984 and says this changed her life and inspired her to make a difference. Studying as a mature student, when her own children were small, she held down 3 part time jobs to get through University and gained a 2:1 in Education. She worked in mainstream Primary and then in Special Education until 2011.

Sheila Moses:Sheila is a mother to 2 children, and director at Mellow Moments. Sheila's background is in pschology and mental health for adults and children and holds a teaching qualification for post 16 year olds. Sheila has been a qualified holistic therapist for over 25 years and teaches these therapies, she is a Mindfulness Practitioner and Well-Being Coach specialising in Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Psy-Tap, NLP, Kinetic Shift and hypnosis for stress, anxiety, phobias, weight management and addictions. Sheila works with children and adults and runs regular well-being/ self development workshops and classes including meditation, yoga and pilates at schools and privately for individuals.
