About this Event
This year has been challenging for all of us! Whatever we have experienced it's important that we know how to take care of ourselves and others and where to go if we need support.
Mind have designed this online workshop with and for undergraduate students at The University of Sheffield to help equip you with the wellbeing essentials to get through this year and beyond.
Over 85% of students who took part last year said they had a better understanding of mental health problems and wellbeing as a result.
What the course provides:
- A two hour online interactive workshop exploring mental health and wellbeing essentials
- Access to helpful online resources with additional tools to carry on your learning and come back to for future use
- A digital certificate that shows your newfound skills and knowledge of mental health essentials which can be used for you CV and future job search
The session will cover:
- What mental health and wellbeing are
- The five ways to wellbeing -- five evidenced-based actions designed to improve personal wellbeing
- Connecting with other students
- Ways to support others and finding support for yourself
- Managing Stress
- Signs and symptoms of mental health problems
- Wellness action plans - how and when to use them
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for any undergraduate student who would like to learn more about mental health or looking after their wellbeing. You do not have to have personal experience of mental health challenges or have any prior knowledge of mental health.
This session isn't designed to provide advice on personal, specific mental health challenges but can signpost to additional support services. This session is not a replacement for counselling or one-to-one support - if you require this please visit https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/mental-wellbeing

All workshops will take place via Google Meet and the link to the workshop and further details will be emailed to you a few days before the workshop.
These workshops are being run by Sheffield Mind in partnership with The University of Sheffield as part of the Mentally Healthy Universities Programme.
