Wellbeing for Education Return Forum Series - Monday Session

About this Event

The Wellbeing for Education Return ‘Forum Sessions’ will offer a learning and reflective space for designated staff members from schools and third sector organisations, who are currently working with children and young people across Oxfordshire, to help implement the learning from the webinars. They will provide ongoing support to ensure the long-term positive impact of the Wellbeing for Return to Education programme.

Each Forum Session will look at a topic from the webinars and explore this in more detail in an interactive, online group-setting. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring and share their challenges and experience of supporting their school or organisation during the pandemic. The Forum Sessions will offer a confidential space to support the exploration of challenges and the application of models and ideas covered in the webinars.

Topics to be covered in the forum sessions:

Session 4 -Monday 22nd February 2021, 3;30pm. - Managing specific mental health challenges in schools during Covid 19

This session will explore strategies and techniques of managing mental health challenges and reflect on when the right time is to seek external support.

Session 5 - Monday 15th March 2021, 3:30pm. -Staff wellbeing/recap of Managing grief

This session will explore challenges staff are facing with their teams/themselves. Attendees will be encouraged to share changes they are implementing or have implemented to support this.

Attendees will be supported to explore how they/their colleagues/children and young people in their care have been affected by grief. The group will discuss and share strategies they have used to support individuals in their school or organization with bereavement and loss.

The trainers facilitating the Forum Sessions have an extensive background in working with vulnerable children and young people which span primary and secondary school age. Their backgrounds include teaching, working in CAMHS, leading special educational needs programmes, youth offending service, youth work, and training of a range of courses such as an Introduction to Mental Health, Safeguarding, and CBT courses.
