Wellbeing with Capacitar
We are delighted to offer a session of Wellbeing with Capacitar, to support our own self-care.
In the session we will experience Capacitar practices, with Shirley leading us through a flow of simple tai chi, breathwork, holds and movement.
Capacitar is about getting in touch with our own body’s wisdom, so allow yourself this
space to nourish and care for yourself. You don’t need any special clothing, but be as
comfortable, warm and nurtured as you can. You may want cosy socks so you can take off
your shoes.
We’ll arrive and settle, then have about 50 minutes of guided practices. We’ll do this as an
inner journey, and keep time for discussion, thoughts and comments until the end.
About Capacitar
Capacitar means to awaken, to encourage, to bring each other to life. It is the name of an
international organisation that has worked for 36 years in almost 50 countries, supporting
survivors of trauma to manage symptoms of post traumatic stress, depression and
anxiety. Using a variety of evidence-based practices and a popular education approach,
Capacitar practices can support a calming of the nervous system when in fight/flight, and
an energising of the system when shut down in freeze.
