Event description

Description

As adults we often have problems remembering how to play, use our imagination, laugh and have fun. Sometimes we want to develop a creative talent but tell ourselves we're just not good enough. Being self-critical in this way can stop us from exploring our creativity.

In this workshop you'll be introduced to different ways to use your creative imagination, think outside the box, and explore how to find joy in your life.

Facilitated by Carolyn Barber, co-director of the Good Mental Health Cooperative, this is one of a series of Wellbeing Workshops this autumn to explore different aspects of our mental wellbeing, and share information about the new Mental Wealth Academy project. These will be followed by a seven week personal development course starting in January 2020.

By registering your name and email address for any workshop, you agree to be added to the Good Mental Health Coop mailing list. Personal contact information is gathered for the sole purpose of communications via our email newsletter site hosted by Mailchimp. You can easily unsubscribe at any time. Details remain confidential and will never be passed on to any third party except as required by UK law.

About the Mental Wealth Academy

The Mental Wealth Academy supports people to access community based activities and workshops which help with inclusion, recovery and good mental health. The support is intended for people who have experienced serious life challenges, are socially isolated, anxious or lacking in confidence. This may include experience of mental ill-health, addictions, disability, bereavement, caring responsibilities for example.

At the Good Mental Health Cooperative, we believe that connecting with others, and informal learning opportunities, are really important steps to good mental health, bringing a sense of inclusion and challenge, rather than feeling isolated and lacking in purpose.

This is an introductory programme, with funding provided by the Big Lottery for the free workshops and courses.
