About this event

Arts • Fine Art

Join deaf photographer Stephen Iliffe for a British Sign Language tour of the Wellcome Photography Prize, exclusively for D/deaf and hard of hearing visitors, highlighting key images.

The Wellcome Photography Prize, now in its 28th year, brings together stories of health, science and human experience. The selected images combine powerful personal narratives with scientific imaging to explore human health at all scales of life.

Stephen Iliffe is a deaf photographer. His intimate portraits and stories celebrate Britain’s deaf community. Stephen’s Deaf Mosaic project features over 110 portraits that challenge the general public with an urgent message: It is not deafness that disables people but the barriers in hearing society that often frustrates our dreams.
