The finalists in Wellingborough’s first business awards have been announced.
Three companies have been chosen across three categories to go head to head to claim first place in the first annual Wellingborough chamber of Commerce business awards.
Fab Footwear, of Nene Court; Brides of Wellingborough located in Silver Street and High Street picture framers Pixie Gallery will battle for first place in the Retail Business of the Year category.
Du Feu IT Solutions Ltd, of The Old Pump Station, Furnace Lane; Chambers and Brighty Independent Funeral Directors of Buckwell End and Park Farm Industrial Estate’s Phoenix Training of Fleming Close, are aiming for the top in the Services Category.
The top three companies battling for first place in the Manufacturing Business of the Year are gluten free cake manufacturers Healthy Baker Ltd, of Stanton Close; Hampton Steel Ltd, of Sanders Road and Bushboard Ltd, of Rixon road.
Rob Hart, chamber president, said: “The aim of the awards is to celebrate excellence and applaud the efforts of businesses within the borough of Wellingborough.
“There are a lot of businesses in the area who are showing promise in helping the town reach its potential economic output, and it’s important to signify those top performers.”
Designed to raise the profile of the Chamber, the awards, which saw entries from 25 companies, were open to all businesses across the borough, not just existing members.
Entrants were asked to demonstrate excellence, specifically how they have made a pioneering approach to business as well as showing a commitment to furthering the prosperity of the borough.
Finalists will be asked to answer three questions why they think they should be crowned winner.
Winners will receive a specially engraved trophy and a marketing pack tailored to their needs, produced by Brixworth based Orange Juice Communications.
