Description

This information event is your opportunity to learn about the match-fund opportunities for projects that support people facing multiple barriers to employment and help people to develop skills to get jobs. The event is for local organisations who:

• want to know more about the types of projects that can apply for European Social Fund (ESF) funding

• are interested in applying for ESF grants and require more details about the application processes

• would like to discuss opportunities for project collaboration and link in with the ESF mapping exercise to help build partnerships

• want to know more about future funding opportunities through the European Social Fund.

It is anticipated that two ESF social inclusion calls will open in March 2017. Project’s that could apply for these funding calls should aim to;

Access to Employment (IP1.1)- ensure young people and adults are equipped with the skills and support they will need to secure and sustain employment. This will be achieved through promoting inclusion, raising aspirations, facilitating educational excellence and delivering an employment and skills system that responds quickly and effectively to changing business needs. We need the delivery of employment support and skills provision that is designed specifically to address the local needs of locally targeted communities. (Call value approximately £5m)

Active Inclusion (IP1.4)- co-ordinate and deliver integrated wrap-around employment support activities to help those furthest from the labour market. These should provide a mechanism for engaging with appropriate unemployed individuals early in their benefit claim and, clear referral routes from and to key local partners. Eligible individuals will present with severe and/or complex challenges to work that together put them at high risk of long term unemployment. (Call value approximately £3.3m)

Future Calls SEMLEP are likely to launch further calls in Spring 2018 for

• Sustainable integration of young people (15-24 years) (IP1.2)

• Enhancing equal access to lifelong learning (IP2.1)

• Improving labour market relevance of training and education systems (IP2.2)

The minimum ESF grant allocated will be £50,000. All projects will require 50% match-fund, therefore the minimum project value should be £100,000.

Applications can be submitted for projects that focus on support local communities in Wellingborough, those that offer support and assist across wider areas in the SEMLEP area or projects that cover the whole of the South East Midlands.
