Event description

Description

The Wrekin Writers are delighted to be presenting a special Wellington Festival meeting and short story workshop. This is a chance for anyone to come along and join in with the fun, support and inspirational writing techniques that have kept this local writing group flourishing for decades. The meeting will include an opportunity for anyone to present a piece of writing. This should be a written work that can be presented in less than three minutes that you consider inspirational. Also you may like to compete in a writing challenge. The challenge to bring to the meeting will need to have the word ‘festival’ in the first line and should be a stand-alone piece of writing, or poetry, created by you using one hundred words or less.

After the meeting section there is a writing workshop with a distinctly green fingered approach to quick short story creation. The meeting and workshop are being led by the chairman of the Wrekin Writers, Darren Bailey.

We would be pleased to welcome anyone to this session with an interest in creative writing. Children are always welcome if accompanied by an adult.

This event is free to attend and may be popular so please do contact us so a space can be reserved for you.

To reserve places on Wrekin Writer events please visit www.wrekinwriters.co.uk, phone Darren Bailey on 01952 405 178, or use the same system as other events on the Wellington Festival program.
