Wellness Recovery Action Planning for Staff Wellbeing 2 day course
Thu, 23 Nov 2017, 09:30 – Mon, 25 Dec 2017, 17:30 GMT
This is a two day course, as part of our Informed Practice series, that builds up your knowledge and practice. In this case WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) is a tool to help you to manage your own mental health and wellness as best you can. It was developed by people who wanted to find a way to overcome their own mental health challenges and to live meaningful and full lives. It assumes that you are the expert on yourself and that you are the best judge of what helps you.
Please note this course is for staff, and volunteers, Health in Mind also facilitates separately WRAP courses for service users.
In a WRAP course we think about and discuss –
The key recovery concepts - Hope, Personal responsibility, Education, Self-Advocacy (Being heard) and Support.
Daily maintenance plan – what we can do every day to stay well
Early warning signs that we are becoming unwell and what we can do about this
Signs that things are falling apart and what we can do about it
Developing a crisis plan/advance directive
Post crisis planning
WRAP is listed in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (US).
Jules Flockhart & Alison McGhee are two of our our WRAP facilitators experienced in working in mental health with Health in Mind in a few different services.
