Developer Quintain is set to transform Wembley Park into the world’s best connected mini city and the UK's largest build to rent development site, with its planned construction programme for 5,000 private rented sector (PRS) homes around the National Stadium. In addition, there is 85 shopping outlets, restaurants and cafés, a 9-screen Cineworld complex and 1 million sq. feet of planned office space. It is expected that on completion, Wembley Park will have created over 8,500 permanent new jobs across a range of sectors, in addition to the jobs created during construction.
Velocity1, a joint venture between Quintain and Irish based Magnet Networks, is the fibre optic broadband supplier for this development, providing Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) services to Wembley Arena and the brand new London Designer Outlet. On March 8th, Enterprise Ireland will host an information seminar at the Dublin City University Alpha Innovation Campus, where Mark Kellett, CEO of Velocity1/Magnet Networks, will go through the Wembley Smart Cities project, shedding light on:
- The largest buy to rent project in the UK
- Deploying Leading edge Smart Building/IoT Services at Wembley
- European IoT Accelerator & Shared Workspace
- BrEntry Launchpad
- Opportunities for Irish companies looking to engage with the Wembley Smart City project
