For a while we've wanted to get an event off the ground to help provide straight-forward, practical support for those interested or involved in blogging and other forms of progressive or independent publishing in Leeds.
The first WePublish unconference event sought to give some direction and now we're trying to bring that sort of mutual support to a regular meetup.
For now there's no big plan - just a chance to meet and chat and see what we all need and how we can all benefit from each other's experiences, skills and ideas.
So - whether youre a niche publisher with a specific subject, contribute to a multi-author website, are an old-school journalist, create printed publications (zines, comics, newsletters, magazines...) or just have your own, private or very public, blog - then come along and we'll see how we can help each other out.
If nothing else it's always good to know there's others out there doing the same thing - and hitting the same problems.
We really look forward to seeing you all.

John Baron is known to many as the man behind Guardian Leeds and, since it's closure, he's been busy on Guardian Northerner and helping get South Leeds Life up and running - he's a journalist with the experience to know the importance of core skills; and the skillset in knowing his tweets from his likes.
Jon Eland ran the first two WePublish events, publishes his own photozines and curates much of the Exposure Leeds website. He also has a life long passion for innovative editorial approaches (and an unhealthy acquisition policy of magazines).
